Jen's Favorite Holiday Recipes
Some of my favorite recipes are ones that I reserve for special occasions, such as the holiday season. I’ve put together a list of my all-time favorite holiday recipes for you, in the hopes that they will be making an appearance on your holiday table this year!
(Keep in mind that while I strive to create recipes for this website that are not labor intensive, I will say that once in a while, a little kitchen labor is well worth the reward - see Eggplant Lasagna :).
In no particular order,
This one comes out at the annual Kelly Christmas party. It is the vegetarian version of my friend’s original recipe, and although it is missing pepperoni, it’s heavy on flavor!
2) Harvest Bake
An oldie, but a goodie! All the flavors of fall in one simple dish. Make a big batch so you can enjoy it all week long.
This gluten-free alternative to fried eggplant is mouth-wateringly delicious. Feel free to bake the eggplant ahead of time, and assemble just before serving.
This dish just shouts New Year’s Eve - it even looks like confetti!
The perfect way to get your greens in at the holidays. Escarole and beans is the perfect side for any celebration table.
6) Pumpkin Balls with Tahini Sauce
These tasty appetizers satisfy all the pumpkin lovers at your table. Drizzle the sauce over any vegetable for an additional delicious side dish.
7) Crispy Baked Artichoke Hearts
This appetizer/side dish requires practically no labor, but don’t tell anyone!
8) Roasted Red Peppers with Pignoli
Serve as an appetizer on its own, or in an antipasto platter. This dish is bright and a beautiful addition to the holiday table.
9) Mushroom Medley with Goat Cheese and Kale
Loaded with fresh herbs and a smooth creamy sauce, spread this scrumptious medley over a crispy sourdough toast, add to pasta, or simply enjoy on its own.
Total crowd pleaser! Serve with veggies like carrot, celery, radish, peppers, endive and anything else fit for scooping.

Pomegranate seeds and bright pistachios make this colorful treat stand out on the dessert table!
